Brazosport Regional Helps Uninsured People Find Health Coverage

3/28/2014

Stephen F. Austin Community Health Center and Brazosport Regional Health System are partnering to help uninsured people in the community find health insurance coverage. The last chance to enroll before penalties are incurred is March 31st.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) or otherwise known as the Affordable Care Act (ACA) will impose penalties on ones who choose not to buy health insurance. If people enroll in a health insurance plan by March 31, they won’t have to make the payment for going without coverage for any month before coverage begins.

Finding health insurance can be a daunting task and sometimes seems impossible. However, Stephen F. Austin Community Health Center and Brazosport Regional have partnered to provide educational sessions about the Affordable Care Act requirements. The following are the dates, times, and places for the educational seminars:

Lake Jackson: Brazosport Regional Health System Educational Classrooms, 100 Medical Drive
Tuesday, March 4 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM
Wednesday, March 12 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM

Freeport: Brazosport Medical Center, 905 North Gulf Blvd

Tuesday, March 4 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM

In addition, there will be a Health Insurance Enrollment Site with an enrollment specialist available from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 508-B This Way in Lake Jackson.
